Everyone has a desire for relevance. The problem arises with the common belief that relevance is something to ultimately be achieved – the endgame trophy. This is a highly dangerous belief to hold. Why?

Relevance isn’t the endgame trophy; it’s the perpetual play… our infinite game. To stay in the game, we must relentlessly pursue relevance because irrelevance is relentlessly pursuing us.

To be relevant is to be appropriate to the matter at hand. In today’s rapidly disruptive world, the matter at hand can change at any moment.
New solutions to peoples problems are arriving faster than ever, making it extremely easy to be stuck providing a cure for a disease that no longer exists. If you’re no longer solving a problem, you’re no longer needed.

Therefore, a mindset shift must happen, both on a personal and business level. We must become obsessed with unearthing and solving the new problems people are being exposed to.
